Implementation

The Pipeline, Profession & Practice: Community-Based Dental Education (Dental Pipeline) program achieves its goals by implementing the following:

• Creating partnerships between dental schools and community-based health care organizations.

• Revising the traditional public health and behavioral science didactic curriculum to raise students' awareness of socio-cultural and health care delivery system issues in dentistry.

• Initiating programs to recruit, enroll, and graduate greater numbers of under-represented minority and low-income students.

• Identifying and advocating for public policy changes at the national, state, and local levels that advance the objectives of the Dental Pipeline program.
